Message from the President

Dear Colleagues,

I am very grateful to members of our university community for taking the time to participate in last week’s Town Hall. There is difficult work ahead, but the support that you have demonstrated and the ideas that you have shared are incredibly helpful. I also so appreciate the engagement of President Rick Gallot, Provost Jeannine O’Rourke, and Vice President for Advancement Claire Norris from the University of Louisiana System, who attended the meeting.

To assist in keeping everyone informed of budget alignment updates throughout the summer months, we have created a webpage, Budget Alignment | LSU New Orleans (uno.edu), that includes a link to a video of the town hall (access is restricted to members of LSU New Orleans community), links to relevant letters that I have sent throughout the spring semester, a place to provide suggestions, and, eventually, an FAQ list as the budget for the upcoming fiscal year is prepared.

I will continue meeting weekly with my leadership team throughout the summer months and, of course, I am happy to continue meeting with groups of faculty, staff, students and alumni as needs arise. Thank you for all that you do to support LSU New Orleans.

With LSU New Orleans Pride,

Kathy Johnson, Ph.D.
President
LSU New Orleans
