Mark these milestones on your calendar. Deadlines vary by term and pathway, so check the full schedule for your specific timeline.

October - November

Spring term deadlines begin. International graduate applicants: October 14. International undergraduate applicants and graduate programs with rolling admissions: November 1. Domestic undergraduate priority scholarship deadline: November 15.

December - January

Domestic undergraduate fall priority scholarship deadline: December 15 (Meeting the priority deadline means your application can be considered for scholarships and grants). Domestic undergraduate spring application deadline: January 2.

March - April

Summer term deadlines begin. International graduate applicants: March 10. Graduate fall scholarship consideration closes: March 15. International undergraduate applicants: April 1. Domestic undergraduate summer priority scholarship deadline: April 15.

May - June

International graduate fall deadline: May 19. Domestic undergraduate summer application deadline: May 28. International undergraduate fall deadline: June 1.

July - August

Graduate fall rolling admissions open from July 1; each program sets its own deadline. Domestic undergraduate fall application deadline: August 7.

No test scores?

We admit in-state freshmen with a 2.5+ core GPA on the Louisiana Core 4 without test scores. You'll complete an Accuplacer exam for English and Math placement.

How to apply in four steps

Set up your profile

Visit the application portal and create your account with your email and password. You'll use this to track your application status throughout the process.

Submit documents

Gather your official high school or college transcripts and submit them to the LSU New Orleans Office of Admissions. If you are including test scores, request official reports directly from the testing agency.

Complete application

Fill out all sections of your application, including academic history and intended program. Review your information carefully before submitting.

Submit and wait

Submit your completed application and watch for a confirmation email. Your admissions decision will arrive at the email address on file, typically within a few weeks of receiving all required materials.

The academic calendar covers key dates for each term — including the first and last days of class, registration periods, holidays, final exam schedules, and census dates. Check the calendar to plan your semester from start to finish.

LSU New Orleans offers merit-based institutional scholarships for incoming students, federal and state aid including TOPS, and graduate funding options. All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA each year. Scholarship availability and award amounts are not changing as a result of the transition.

Apply online, send official transcripts, and check your status through the admissions portal. All domestic undergraduate application fees are currently waived. Requirements vary by program, and the admissions team is available to guide you through every step.

Summer 2026 offers both full-term and accelerated session options. The full term runs June 8 through July 29, with additional four-week sessions available. Check the academic calendar for registration dates, add/drop deadlines, and the full summer schedule.
