You can apply online through the LSU New Orleans application portal. Once you've submitted your application, send official transcripts from every institution you've attended. If you have fewer than 24 transferable credit hours, you'll also need to submit your high school transcripts and meet freshman admissions requirements. Check your email after applying for your admissions decision, and reach out to a transfer counselor if you have questions along the way.

Each institution has its own process for releasing transcripts. Check your previous school's registrar or student records office for instructions on how to request and send official transcripts. You'll need to do this for every college or university you've attended. LSU New Orleans accepts transcripts sent directly from your institution or through an approved electronic delivery service.

Cost of attendance depends on whether you're an in-state or out-of-state student, and whether you live on or off campus. Estimates cover tuition, fees, books, room and board, transportation, and personal expenses. A net cost calculator is available to help you estimate your actual out-of-pocket cost after financial aid is applied.

LSU New Orleans offers merit-based institutional scholarships for new, incoming transfer students based on GPA. Additional funding opportunities are available through federal financial aid, and all students are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA. Louisiana residents may also qualify for the state TOPS scholarship. See the scholarships page for current eligibility requirements and award details.

Application deadlines vary by term and applicant type. Transfer applicants have separate deadlines from freshman and international applicants, so check the deadlines page for the most current dates. The academic calendar, including add and drop dates and final exam schedules, is available through the Office of the Registrar.
