Zhenhua Chen, Ph.D. of the Ohio State University explores China's rapid development of high-speed rail (HSR), focusing on the planning strategies, financing, and institutional frameworks that have enabled its success. Highlighting how consistent government support, strong research investment, and international cooperation facilitated large-scale infrastructure development, the talk examines the socio-economic impacts of HSR on regional development, offering insights into the lessons learned and their implications for future infrastructure projects both in China and globally.
