The focus of LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck International Summer School is to provide a meaningful learning experience and a favorable learning environment for all its participants. To this end, classes are kept small and faculty members are selected carefully and are encouraged to enhance their courses by taking advantage of the European setting through class field trips and guest lectures. The small class sizes have become characteristic for LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck and help students bond with each other and their professors. Each class is capped at 17 U.S. students, but is also open to students from the University of Innsbruck, LSU New Orleans’s partner institution abroad. This gives all students the opportunity to meet their peers and exchange perspectives, opinions, and experiences in class.
The academic regulations currently imposed at LSU New Orleans will apply in Innsbruck as well. All students must enroll in and maintain 6 credit hours, i.e. 2 courses. All courses listed carry 3 hours of semester credit that will be transferred back to the students' home institution via electronic transcript.

Eligibility & Admission
Academic Admission Requirements
Undergraduates with a 3.0 cumulative GPA are eligible to apply to LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck International Summer School. Non-LSU New Orleans students must submit an official transcript and other application materials to LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck program administration. New students seeking college credit must meet the general admission requirements of LSU New Orleans.
Student Conduct Admission Requirements
Students must be in good standing with their home institution to be considered for admission to LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck International Summer School. As part of the program application, all students must complete the Home Campus Information Form, including the authorization to release academic and disciplinary records to LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck program administration for verification with the Student Conduct office at the home institution. These records, which will be reviewed by authorized program personnel only, will be used to determine eligibility for admission to the program. Students on disciplinary and/or academic probation will not be accepted to LSU New Orleans-Innsbruck International Summer School.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all required paperwork, including paperwork submitted on their behalf by their home institution, is submitted by the application deadline. Failure to do so will result in an incomplete application.

LSU New Orleans is committed to providing for the needs of enrolled or admitted students who have disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
University policy calls for reasonable accommodations to be made for students with documented disabilities on an individualized and flexible basis. However, it is the responsibility of students to seek available assistance at the University and to make their needs known. Persons requiring disability-related accommodations for study abroad must notify the program administration at the earliest possible date so that their needs may be properly assessed and reasonably accommodated.
Class Field Trips
All classes will have a number of field trips, which are integral to the courses, and are led by faculty members. Most field trips will take place on weekday afternoons, following morning classes, but some will occur on weekends. Students should consult the program calendar (or with the Innsbruck program office) before planning any activities or travels.
These field trips will include destinations in Italy and Germany, as well as to local sites and places of interest in and around Innsbruck and Austria. All field trips and site visits are mandatory.
