CONGRATULATIONS, future privateer!

Now that you're admitted... What's next?

After being accepted into LSU New Orleans, you'll need to take care of just a few more details to complete the admissions process.

1. Share the good news!

By taking a photo and posting on social media using #UNOproud. Follow us at @UofNO and @UNOadmissions to see if you’re spotlighted!

2. Submit Your Test Scores

If you were admitted without test scores and below a 3.0 GPA (check your acceptance letter for clarification), please submit ACT or SAT scores. If you don't have these scores, please schedule a time to take the Accuplacer Next Generation test to ensure correct placement in your classes. This must be done prior to or at your registration day. ACT/SAT/ACCUPLACER Test Scores - Even if you're not sure you need them, send everything! We use them to place you in the highest-level course possible so you don't take classes that you don't need.  Test scores never hurt you, they only help you place higher and broaden your chances for scholarships!

AP, IB, and CLEP scores - send official scores from College Board, CLEP, or IB.

3. Access Your LSU New Orleans Email

Be on the lookout for an email from LSU New Orleans Access Services for details on how to set up your LSU New Orleans username and password. Once completed, you’ll be able to access your LSU New Orleans email by visiting mail.uno.edu. Need help setting things up? Contact the IT Help Desk at 504.280.HELP (4357). 

4. Submit FAFSA and Review Financial Aid

If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, be sure to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.gov. Have questions about the FAFSA, TOPS, scholarships, etc.? Visit finaid.uno.edu or call the Privateer Enrollment Center at 504.280.6603. All financial aid notices will be sent to your LSU New Orleans student email account, so be sure to check it regularly!

5. Send your Transcripts

There are different ways to send your transcripts to LSU New Orleans. Make sure you have sent all official final transcripts! Please follow the instructions listed at uno.edu/admissions/transcripts to ensure that the Office of Admissions receives your transcripts.

Important! We cannot grant credit for AP/IB coursework or dual enrollment coursework listed on your high school transcript.  They must come directly from College Board, IB, or the college/university where you took the courses.

Dual Enrollment or College Transcripts - Request official transcripts from the college/university where you took the courses (not your high school). Transfer credit cannot be posted until official transcripts are received. 

6. Start your New Student Experience

Through each step of the New Student Experience, students will be prepared to succeed at LSU New Orleans while discovering how to live & learn in community. Learn more about New Student Experience here.

Step1: Registration Day is designed to get you started! Now that you are a Privateer, we’re ready to introduce you to campus & get you enrolled in classes.

Step 2: Online Orientation Modules teaches you more about different parts of campus at your own pace.

Step 3: Fall MAMBO will help you start your classes on the right foot and to make the most of your Privateer experience!

*Returning undergraduates and transfer students with over 60 credit hours of transfer coursework do not need to attend a New Student Experience event. You may reach out directly to their academic advisor to schedule classes here. 

7. Submit Immunization Forms

Incoming freshmen are required to submit immunization records to LSU New Orleans Student
Health Services, or request an Immunization Waiver prior to getting advised and registered. For more information, visit immunization.uno.edu.

8. Apply for Campus Housing/Exemption

All new full-time, first-year students are required to either apply for campus housing, or submit a housing requirement exemption request prior to getting advised and registered. For more information, visit housing.uno.edu.

9. Complete Onboarding tasks in Workday

Log into Workday through myapps.uno.edu and complete the onboarding tasks in your inbox.
