Attendance Policy:

To be able to register for classes at a Registration Day, you (the student) must arrive during Check-In and stay through the entire program. Check-in is an important process that allows our staff to prepare to advise you and help you register for classes. Attending Check-In ensures a smooth registration process as this is where we take care of important tasks like lifting holds. Guests (parents, family, etc) can NOT attend a Registration day in place of a student.

We know attending a Registration Day can feel like a long day but it is important to attend the entire day to prepare you for success at LSU New Orleans! Important information will be given during the day that you won't want to miss!  We ask that you keep this in mind when signing up for your Registration Day.

ATTENTION: All freshmen students admitted with a high school cumulative GPA below 3.0 without test scores will need to submit a test score or take an Accuplacer test BEFORE the registration day (check your admit letter or online admissions portal for clarification). Please read the policy fully here* for important instructions to complete before meeting with your Advisor.

Please note, that guest and special students do not need to attend a registration day. Registration days are only required for first-time, full time students and Transfer students who have less than 60 credit hours transferring in.

  • To-Do List– Before Your Registration Day

You MUST complete these tasks by the priority deadline of your Registration Day session. See confirmation email for date.

Take the following steps to get ready for course advising & registration:

    1. Set up your LSU New Orleans Email and Password. Check your email for a message from Access Services for this step. Be sure to check your spam/junk folder!
    2. File your FAFSA to apply for Financial Aid.
    3. Send official transcripts (if applicable) through the college’s transcript request with [email protected] as the recipient email. Dual Enrollment transcripts must be sent from the college where you took the course.
    4. Submit all test scores to [email protected]. Scores will not impact your admission, but can help you get scholarships and a higher placement level in Math and English. Test scores must be less than 5 years old. ACT or SAT scores can be sent through the ACT or College Board website or emailed to [email protected]. If you email them, be sure to include your name and the test date in the screenshot. AP, CLEP, and IB scores must be sent through the College Board or IB website to receive college credit.
      1. If you have not taken the ACT or SAT, and your Cumulative GPA is below 3.0, you'll need to take the Accuplacer before registering for classes. See the Accuplacer page for more details.
    5. Complete Onboarding in Workday. These Onboarding tasks include reviewing contact information, setting up emergency contact and third-party access, acknowledging important policies (financial responsibility, FERPA, immunization), agreeing to receive the 1098-T form electronically, and setting up payment elections.  This is a video tutorial that will walk you through this step.
    6. Submit Immunization Records or Waiver Online
    7. Apply for Housing, or submit the housing exemption form.
  • To-Do List– After Your Registration Day
    • Complete Step 2 of the New Student Experience - Online Orientation Module
