Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Lester E. Kabacoff School of Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Administration at LSU New Orleans. For more than 45 years, we have prepared students for successful careers and leadership roles across the hospitality and tourism industries. We are proud of our history, accomplished alumni, dedicated faculty and students, and the generous support of Lester E. Kabacoff.

Hospitality and tourism offer a dynamic and diverse range of career opportunities, from leadership and management roles in hotels, restaurants, resorts, casinos, cruise lines, convention centers, and cultural attractions to careers in events and festivals, destination management, tourism organizations and CVBs, travel, transportation, and more. Graduates also pursue careers in operations, revenue management, sales and marketing, guest experience, human resources, development, entrepreneurship, and strategic planning. Our alumni have gone on to achieve leadership positions throughout this global industry.

Our programs combine rigorous academics, hands-on learning, professional certifications, and strong industry partnerships. Our New Orleans location provides a tremendous advantage, giving students access to internships, employment, networking, major events, festivals, and some of the industry's leading professionals and organizations.

We are focused on building on our strong foundation while creating new opportunities for our students and partners. I am honored to serve as Department Chair and excited about the future of the Kabacoff School.
